Chuck Sugar (b. August 12, 1955) is an American licensed professional counselor in the state of Tennessee specializing in Marriage Counseling, Christian Counseling, Grief Counseling, Depression Counseling and Affair Recovery. Chuck Sugar currently runs a private practice located in the Maryland Farms area in Brentwood, Tennessee, which allows him to do what he loves most: helping people.
Born in Shreveport, Louisiana and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Chuck Sugar learned early on that communication was the key to building successful careers and relationships. Upon college graduation, Chuck Sugar began traveling and singing Christian music for churches, college groups, and youth groups. Having worked in the music industry as a recording artist, booking agent and manager, Chuck Sugar has helped many emerging and established artists with their communication skills, teaching them how to say things between songs from their hearts that gave audiences a meaningful concert experience; not just a musical one.
Chuck Sugar has an undergraduate degree in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Chuck Sugar resides in Franklin, Tennessee.
Following high school graduation, Chuck Sugar attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and later graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Petroleum Land Management. In 2003, Chuck Sugar went on to obtain a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Today, Chuck Sugar runs his private counseling practice in Brentwood, Tennessee. Besides Marriage Counseling, the practice also offers Affair Recovery, Depression, Grief, and Christian Counseling.
A former recording artist, Chuck Sugar discovered his passion for helping people when he taught emerging and established music artists how to communicate with their audience during concerts. It was there that he recognized the importance of good communication within business and personal relationships.
Chuck Sugar has a deep passion for helping couples with troubled marriages. He believes that effective communication in marriage is perhaps the single most important aspect of a successful relationship. In his practice, Chuck Sugar works with couples in the areas of communication, peaceful conflict resolution, and affair recovery. Chuck Sugar helps couples learn how to communicate, work through their differences, and ultimately fall in love again.
Chuck Sugar finds that helping couples reconnect and begin healthy communicating again is one of the most rewarding areas of counseling.
