Doug Battista (b. Feb. 15, 1972) is an American businessman and the current Vice President of Operations for Jenny Craig.
Doug Battista is a graduate of the University of Hartford and holds a Master’s degree in organizational behavior. He additionally has a Bachelor of Science degree in Travel/Tourism and Hospitality Administration from Niagara University.
Previously, Doug Battista has managed human resource departments for the Aramark Corporation and the Walt Disney Company. His particular areas of expertise include Organizational design, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, and leading organizations through large-scale change initiatives. Battista is also noted as having extensive experience in employee relations as well as employee benefits, compensation, and payroll management. Doug Battista has held positions in Connecticut, Texas, and California.
Doug Battista is a member of the Jenny Craig Executive Leadership Team. In this role, Doug Battista reports directly to the Global Chief Executive Officer and overseas the operations department for the Company’s 4000 employees. Doug Battista came to his role at Jenny Craig after working as a Head of Talent Acquisition and HR Analytics for of Nestlé USA in Glendale, California.
Doug Battista is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Career
Following graduation from high school, Doug Battista enrolled in Niagara University where he earned a BS in Travel Tourism/Hospitality Administration. He went on to obtain a Master’s of Science in Organizational Behavior from the University of Hartford (1998). While completing his graduate degree, Doug Battista accepted a position at Aramark as a Food Services Director. Here, he also spent time in other Food & Beverage management positions including Catering Director and Conference Center Manager.
In 1997, Doug Battista was promoted to Regional Recruiter. In this position, he placed more than 100 managers over the course of a year by using innovative recruitment techniques, including online research and solicitation. In 1999, Doug Battista accepted a position in Irving, Texas, where he was appointed as the Human Resources Manager for Aramark’s Healthcare Support Services division.
In 2000, Doug Battista relocated to Burbank, California, where he served as the Human Resources Manager for the Walt Disney Arts Classics division. Disney made the decision to license this division’s products to several vendors, and Battista was asked to manage the downsizing efforts. He was responsible for assisting with employee placement, career coaching and counseling, and ensuring compliance with government mandates including the Federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification. After the downsizing efforts, Battista served as the HR Manager for the Walt Disney Company’s Global Hardlines and Marketing Creative Arts Division.
In 2002, Doug Battista returned to the Aramark Corporation as the Western Region Human Resources Director for the Company’s Uniform Services division. Battista implemented programs to develop managers and was recognized for his succession planning efforts.
In 2006, Battista accepted the position of Human Resources Director for Nestlé USA’s Logistics divisions. Here, he is noted for streamlining the human resources delivery at over a dozen satellite locations and overseeing the implementation of workforce management technology
In 2008, Doug Battista was promoted within the Nestlé Corporation to Head of Talent Acquisition and Human Resource Analytics in Glendale, California. Achievements in this position include creating a Recruitment Center of Expertise (COE) that served 17 divisions of Nestlé. He also designed and built the HR Analytics function including hiring the team, implementing metrics, and building online tools for the entire HR organization.
In March of 2012, Doug Battista was promoted to Vice President of Human Resources for Jenny Craig, a weight management Company owned by Nestlé. He was brought in to overhaul the Human Resources Department and align it with the Company’s business strategy. In a short period of time, Battista re-built the HR department from a reactionary group focused on personnel administration to a strategic business partner. He is closely involved with the Company’s business strategy while managing the entire HR function including leadership development, succession, employee relations, recruiting, internal communications, payroll, compensation & benefits. Battista led the organizational design and change efforts for Jenny Craig’s strategy implementation including the transition from a brick-and-mortar retailer to a multi-channel service organization with a revenue-generating e-business model. He was responsible for planning and executing all facets of the Company’s organization model including business case, organizational design, talent model, and compensation programs. Battista also led the efforts to recruit, select and hire members of the Company’s leadership team including the Chief Information Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and E-business Director.
